Pearl Dental London – A Samsung In-Window Signage Display Installation in Central London

At first glance, the enquiry from Pearl Dental London sounded straightforward.

The client was looking to replace an existing static lightbox with a large-format digital display - ideally a 65" or 75" screen to help attract attention from passing pavement and road traffic outside the practice.

A simple upgrade. Or so it seemed.

As with many digital signage installation projects, the turning point came when we asked for photos of the installation location.

What initially appeared to be a standard window display quickly revealed a far more challenging environment. The proposed screen location sat above a stairwell void, with a ceiling height of more than four metres above the first floor. Suddenly, what looked like a routine installation became a much more complex access project.

This is exactly why we always encourage customers to share photos, measurements, and details of the mounting environment as early as possible. The screen itself is often the easy part - it’s the installation logistics that can completely change a project, and have big deciding factors on what can be a feasible solution.

After extensive discussions with our installation team, we decided the only sensible next step was a site visit. We needed to properly assess the space, take measurements, and establish a realistic solution that would work both technically and commercially for our potential customer.

Once on site, the challenge became clear.

The combination of the high ceiling and the downward stairwell created a major access issue. Reaching the original mounting position would require specialist scaffold access equipment, significantly increasing installation costs. On top of that, the work would likely need to be carried out either out of hours or during a full practice closure for health and safety reasons.

At this point, the installation costs were starting to outweigh the practicality of the original plan.

Rather than forcing an expensive solution, we stepped back and re-evaluated the objective:

What was the client actually trying to achieve?

The answer was simple:

• Maximum visibility from outside

• Bright, engaging digital content

• A professional finish

• A practical installation cost

With that in mind, we explored a range of alternative mounting methods and ultimately settled on a much smarter approach - a 55" display mounted directly to the window frame using a horizontal support bar.

The result delivered everything the client needed, without the excessive installation complexity.

We supplied and installed a 55" Samsung 4000 nit Samsung In-Window Signage Display, securely mounted within the practice window and optimised for direct sunlight and daylight visibility. The screen now displays dynamic video content designed to capture the attention of passing pedestrians and road traffic throughout the day.

Most importantly, the final solution achieved the client’s original goal while remaining commercially sensible and practical to install.

Projects like this are a great reminder that successful digital signage solutions aren’t just about choosing a screen - they’re about understanding the environment, asking the right questions early, and adapting the solution to suit the real-world challenges of the space.
